There is an awesome remix for urban radios which is produced by Kanye West I think. It runs 3:43 in time. The lyrics are re-written and are sung over in a hip-hop soul kinda way.

The video version of this song is also better than the original because there's more background trumpet music.

Oh My god! this song has to be one of the best if not the best songs I've heard overall in a long time.This r&b masterpiece is such and inspirational love song that lovers and anyone can enjoy.She has brillianty crafted a song that will forever be remebered as other songs are today like "I will always love you" and "I'm going down" in the r&b world.Alicia keys has nothing but bright stars shining aorund her right now this is her moment and I can only see more great things alicia will lash out on us because she is a "musical genius"Listen to this song and you too will find the true meaning in love.AAA+

Alicia Keys is simply a throwback to '70s soul and the retro-leaning "If I Ain't Got You" hints that. Her soulful, sultry vocals sound better than ever and are supported by inspired piano work, lush intrumentation and an ever-smooth beat. Keys has proven that she's the real deal. She's got a big, gutsy voice (powerful pipes) and delivers good messages to boot. Anything she touches is seductive and vertiginous. She was billed as being possessed by an "old soul" and that old soul has clearly uplifted her into one of the more refreshing R&B vocalists in recent times.

This song is amazing! Definitely her best work yet. I think this song has the ability to be remembered just as much as Whitney Huston's version of "I Will Always Love You" was. It is an incredible love song.

I like Alicia Keys, but I can always tell what artist she was listening to before she wrote/recorded this song. Even though I am young, I listen to music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. This song sounds a remake of an Aretha song with some Donny in it. In other words, this song is NOT original at all!! I do love the message of this song, but this sounds like a song I already heard before.

When I hear a song by Alicia Keys, it sometimes can be just amazing. Whether it is a enjoyable ballad like Fallin', or a Hip Hop rhythm like Girlfriend, she seems to have it all in one roll. Though, there is a once in a while time, a song from hers doesn't have what she is made of. Her recent track, If I Ain't Got You, does have that feel similar to Roberta Flack, but the song doesn't seem to hit the chemistry You Don't Know My Name, or How Come You Don't Call Me influenced a few years ago. Although there also isn't much R&B out right now, largely because of manufactured acts, the song will just have to do right now. I suggest you listen to this for yourself, and see what the pianist from New York City has developed.

how I wish a Gladys Knight,Whitney Houston,mariah Carey would do a song like this.Alicia Keys has those grand sweeping cuts that jack from the past as do many Acts but in Her case you always feel like you are playing name that tune.Her voice for me never reaches the moutain that the Build up of these songs&that always leaves me feeling a cold vibe.this cut is cool but if somebody who had some steam was singing it then it would truly cook.
