challenges the imagination and helps us appreciate who we are,
This review is from: If I Could Be Anything (Perfect Paperback)
If you could be anything at all, what would you wish to be? A blue whale swimming in the sea? A young kangaroo? A seagull flying over the waves? A giraffe which can see over trees? A monkey swinging in the jungle? I'm sure that all of us have wondered at one time or another what it would be like to be an ant, an elephant, a crocodile, a dolphin, or an eagle. In this children's picture book, a young boy pretends to be different animals, but what will he decide in the end? Author Kevin McNamee's rhyming text and illustrator Marina Movshina's colorful pictures will not only challenge youngsters' imaginations but also help them to appreciate who they are and what they have. I cannot imagine why any child would not enjoy this charming book.

Children love it,
This review is from: If I Could Be Anything (Perfect Paperback)
My daughter's school library has a copy of this book and the children love it. It's been in the reserved/requested pile for the last few weeks. Children are immediately drawn to the vibrant, fanciful cover and once inside, can't put the book down. My daughter (6) likes to read it by herself - the text is simple enough for her to read, and the rhyme scheme satisfies her poetic spirit. My son (3) also enjoys the book - he likes for me to read it over and over while he studies the illustrations. I like that he's learning about animals that are common enough to hold his interest, but unique enough to not be overdone in a book like this.
