4.0 out of 5 stars A great duet between two superstars
"If I Told You That" is a great example of the kind of pop-infused R&B that both George Michael and Whitney Houston are known for. Whitney sounds in top form, however George appears to be trying a bit too hard to compete with Miss Houston. He hits all the high notes, but he appears to be competing with her and he sounds better when he sticks to lower...

3.0 out of 5 stars Scrambled, But Adequate Duet
Since earlier times, with duets being made very well, it is just difficult to accept certain duets as a well status. For Whitney Houston & George Michael, they have collaborated well, but not all that well. This review is from: If I Told You That (Audio CD)
Since earlier times, with duets being made very well, it is just difficult to accept certain duets as a well status. For Whitney Houston & George Michael, they have collaborated well, but not all that well. Their version of If I Told You That, was remixed within George Michael's voice, a track that Whitney originated for her 1998 album, My Love Is Your Love. The remixed version appeared for her 2000 The Greatest Hits record. Although the remix is just as upbeat and very dominant from both performers, it is just not what I would expect to hear from both Whitney & George. All in all, the bottom line is that If I Told You That is a very well put collaboration, but couldn't beat the original version Whitney Houston released. As for George Michael, his collaborations with Elton John on Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me & Aretha Franklin also on I Knew You Were Waiting For Me, were more exciting as well.

Whitney sounds in top form, however George appears to be trying a bit too hard to compete with Miss Houston. He hits all the high notes, but he appears to be competing with her and he sounds better when he sticks to lower octives. The remix of the song is also great. "Fine" is a great jazzy R&B song, but the remix of "I'm Your Baby Tonight" falls flat.

This is a great song that you cannot find in any compilation or previous album. Combining the fantastic voices of both singers.

My rating for the seller is great too. He sent me the CD with an extra case because the original one had a little crack.
