This may very well be one of the finest gospel albums ever made. Every track on this classic album is definitely a winner, and it belongs in your collection. I highly recommend "He Cares For You", "Great Things", and the soul-stirring "I Guess You're Wondering". This is truly a masterpiece, and today's artists should listen to this historic album, because this is how real gospel music should be performed. There are not many choirs that can deliver like the Thompson Community Singers did. It is unfortunate that this music phenomenon has not had an album for a few years now. Hopefully, with the grace of God, they will come back, and keep delivering God's music with their powerful voices. Amen!!

Between the years of 1984 and 1992, the Thompson Community Singers were at their very best. And their recordings during this era remain to this day as being "collectable items" for most gospel music fans. "If I Be Lifted" is a strong set of harmonious unes and reveals serious choral arrangements with punctuated horns. And it showcases the Tommies' at their pinnacle state. Out of the eight selections, all of these tunes (yes all) fall into the "greatest hits" category. The contemporary foot-stomper "Great Things" is a joyride, while the bountiful and colorful Tina Watson showcases her amazing soprano range on the opening cut, "He Cares For You". "Thank You" and "God's Got It" are also favorites, while the gritty churchy vocals of Leanne Faine embrace the jamming track, "I Guess You're Wondering". Not a dry track listed on this collection. Truly, one of the Tommies' finest masterpieces.

This is an inspirational and enjoyable work by Rev. Mlton Brunson and the Thompson Commuinty Singers from chicago, IL.

I first came across this recording about 19 years ago riding in the car with my Parents. To this day I still listen to this Album. Every song is powerful. "If I be Lifted" is my personnal favorite. ANYONE who has had ANY kind of spiritual encounter will definitely feel a movement in their Spirit after hear these hyms. An excellent selection to have in your collection!
