If I Never, is a well written and thoughtful book with a mystery to be solved and even a bit of humour. The characters are real and something everyone can find in their lives. There's the good guy (Price), the girl (Tara), the bully (George), crazy relatives, and enough bad guys to satisfy. The care the author has for his characters is evident as we see them grow and change in their relationships. This novel is moving and compassionate. The unconditional love Tony has for a paralyzed lover is striking. This story is emotional without taking itself too seriously. I did get a good laugh when I was introduced to the brothers Tom, Dick and Harry. While it may be gritty and unforgiving in places, it ends well and provides assurance that even the worst wrongs can be made right. Well done!
