About the Author

A writer, mother, speaker, and activist, Stephanie Henry has overcome tremendous adversity that has birthed a passion to help women and children rise from pain to power. She is dedicated to the fight against national and international child sex trade and human trafficking, as well as domestic violence, sexual abuse, and eating disorders. She also supports issues surrounding life skills education and survival for orphans and works to teach others not to be silent when the need to reveal secrets will heal and save them from being victimized. A firm believer in activism for the empowerment of women and children, Stephanie says, ''Our children are not only our responsibility but our future. Keeping them safe is my number one passion.''

More About the Author

Stephanie Henry (1964-present) was born in Blackwell Oklahoma. She has overcome decades of abuse and hardship that ultimately led her to discover her life's mission as an advocate for other victims. She is currently a leading voice in the mission to empower women and children who have suffered from similar forms of abuse

Finding the courage to share her own story of abuse, Stephanie penned her first book "If Only I Could Sleep" A Survivor's Memoir, a poignant account of her childhood sexual molestation, her extraordinary fight for survival, and her lifelong mission to help others escape from abuse and embark on their paths towards healing.

Today Stephanie is an influential and inspirational speaker, author and advocate who draws from her humanitarian efforts and extraordinary personal journey to give audiences an up-close view of the devastating effects abuse as well as the opportunity for healing and recovery. Loved this book from beginning to end. The ups and downs that the author went through are more than any person should ever have to endure. The fact that she experienced what she did and ended up where she is is a testament to the human spirit and the power of positive thinking.

A beautifully written book, a sad story that refuses to end like a sad story and leaves you wondering when the real Stephanie, the beautiful person I have had the privilege to meet, will write its next chapter... It took courage to write this book, but Stephanie, your real triumph over everything that happened to you is the fact that you have forgiven everyone, including yourself. Now "you can sleep" and, because of that, face and live your dreams.

A compelling account of a young woman's search for love and acceptance that lead her to a life of drugs and victimization. It also accounts her steep climb out of that environment and to a meaningful life of self discovery and giving to others. I really liked it!

Touching, heartbreaking, brutally honest. I believe you have helped many people and will help many more by telling your story. I think I have been helped and some healing has taken place; at least it has started too! I also long for a real girl friend that I could confide in and trust with everything. Too bad Texas and North Carolina are so far apart:) I would be proud to know you. Thank you so much for pouring out your heart for this book. I pray your struggles will become less with each passing day and your happiness will grow more. Your children and grandchild are so lucky to have you. God bless you all.,
