KT goes back to the 80's on her third single off Drastic Fantastic, March 28, 2008
This review is from: If Only (Audio CD)
KT Tunstall's third single "If Only" off her
Drastic Fantastic album is yet another excellent addition to her catalog. "If Only" is definitely one of the standout tracks on Drastic Fantastic and a good choice for the third single.
But while her first single "
Hold On" and her second single "
Saving My Face" (both worth getting as well) featured an original b-side, KT has decided to do something a little different here and include a live cover of the classic Bangles song "Walk Like An Egyptian," taking a nostalgic trip back to the 80's. Sometimes KT will make a cover song all her own, one example being her take on Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees" off her "
Another Place to Fall" single. But here KT basically follows the same Bangles blueprint, and the song sounds very similar to the original in terms of instrumentation. So I suppose it depends on whether you like the original Bangles version or not. Still, KT Tunstall can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, and I'm enjoying this single just as much as her other ones.
Highly recommended for any KT fan.
