This detailed workbook allows you to not only organize your financial, legal and insurance information, but also gives step-by-step guidance as to what families need to do after losing a loved one.

Financial planner and co-author Joe Hearn describes it this way: "The idea for the book originated with a folder that I had prepared for my wife shortly after we were married. Because I handled our finances, I realized that if something ever happened to me, she would have a tough time wading through everything. This is a fantastic workbook for those who have children or parents that are retired. My husband and I have looked all over for years for this type of help. This book has helped us organize all our financial and legal affairs for our children in case something were to happen to us. This book is a huge time saver and has helped us organize all of our information!

I live in Florida, and last year's hurricane season was unbelievably stressful. While I was fortunately OK, some of my fellow Floridians saw their lives turned upside down overnight. This has made me much more aware of the need to be prepared if something happens.

I interviewed Joe on my radio show EverydayWealth Radio, and had the opportunity to review his book as well. In summary, it's an excellent guide for all of us -- single, married, kids or without -- to get our financial matters in order just in case. Something like a major storm, fire etc. could make this book invaluable for finding all your information quickly.

The next hurricane season is upon us, and I am using If Something Happens to Me as part of my preparations. Just in case!

Recently I bought this book for my mother as a gift thinking she could use it to get her papers and financial information under control before "something happens to (her)". I didnt know if she needed it, or would even want it, but got it anyway. I mailed it to her in Florida (which was hit by hurricanes last year) and she just received it. Her email to me said, "I had an appt with my financial advisor to go over something like this, but now I am going to cancel the appt. This book is EXACTLY what I am looking for." She even said that she was going to show it to her friends as they might be interested in the book as well!

I had previously purchased "If Something Happens To Me" over a year ago. I found it to be very comprhensive and fairly easy to complete. When I finished the appropriate sections I found that there were several areas that would need to be updated (quarterly for me). I really feel that this completed work would be a real asset for those I leave behind as they tend to the chore of finalizing my estate. I truely wish my father had left something like this for me to use as I struggled to settle his estate. It certainly would have been a less agonizing puzzle for me and my two siblings. Just this past August our home was the victim of a flash flood (2 1/2 to 3 feet of water rushed through our home and unfortunately my original copy of "If Something Happens To Me" was soaked (fortunately not destroyed). Some of it is blurred, but still most is somewhat ledgible. I intend to re-enter and update the information to my new copy. I feel it puts all my information in a clear and organized format that can be very useful to those I leave behind. It will also be a valuable tool for my attorney when we do estate planning. One lesson learned...store it in a safer .. and higher .. location.

Purchased this item from familylifetoday.com as a kit. Reveived a CD, workbook and file that helps organize, create forms and so on. Well worth the money spent and helps put to bed the fear of not knowing what to do. We thought we had it all together until we used this package... Now we *really* do. We plan to give as Christmas gifts to our parents and siblings. Create an awesome legacy - by doing it right for your family.

Someone referred me to this book and I bought several for family. Having lost a parent in the recent past, this book would of been invaluable if they had completed one. It has everything you need to identify for your family where all your assets are if something should happen to you. I highly recommend this for parents.

This is a thoughful and sincere way to plan for the unexpected. It makes you think and puts you in the survivor's shoes. I'm more at ease now that any questions that may arise can be more easily answered.
Everyone should have this book either for themselves or for a loved one.

"If Something Happens to Me" is a thorough guide that helps to organize all information the family/executor will need in the event of your loss of competence or death. It's also a handy collection of asset info for quick reference. Since the info may need to be edited or enhanced over time, it's important to review it periodically to keep it current. One caution in this Era of Identity Theft, however, is that I would leave blank all spaces for account numbers unless the book is kept in a safe deposit box.
