5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning work, January 31, 2007

This review is from: If This Is Hell, Then I'm Lucky (Audio CD)
Deep and powerful work from a stellar musician. CD seems to be nowhere to be found (I found the tracks online). What a shame that If This is Hell isn't getting the accolades it deserves. Vastly more original and compelling than most popular music of the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best ever by Dax, December 12, 2007
This review is from: If This Is Hell, Then I'm Lucky (Audio CD)
The first time I saw Deadboy and the elephantmen was Nov. 2, 2000 Deadboy and the elephantmen played a practice demo show at Renaissance in Lafayette, LA.
The songs were very hypnotizing. I just had to get up closer to see, so I went to the front of the stage. It was packed with fans. It seemed like all eyes were glued to Daks. Everyone in the band had long hair hanging down and they moved hauntingly slow into the groove. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. They only had 6 songs to play. So hearing them for the first time live as dead boy and the elephant men was an eternity of newfound music for me. I will never forget it.

After the show I wanted to talk to Daks, but I froze up. I was lost for words. I was in limbo for days. I couldn't understand how he could put the words with the melody. It's all I could think about. It's truly a gift to be at his level of talent. So after that night, every time I told people about the group, I found that if they already new about them, I gained a new best friend. Everyone who knows Daks always has something good to say about him.

Buy the CD it has value. If you find yourself getting hooked on the music its ok, but you were warned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, July 2, 2007
This review is from: If This Is Hell, Then I'm Lucky (Audio CD)
Very different from his music with Acid Bath but still good . just as dark and evil. This is not a metal album if that is what you are expecting you might be disapointed. Its a little like Agents of oblivion ,but i like Deadboy better. I found a copy on Ebay for 12$
