5.0 out of 5 stars I DON'T DO MYSTERIES!!!!!, November 1, 2000

This review is from: If Walls Could Talk (Paperback)
Hey Everybody!!!! The first thing I want to say is "I DON'T DO MYSTERY BOOKS". I have over 200 African American books in my personal library at home...and not one of them are a Mystery. But my Bookstore Lady kept saying "Emma, you have to read this Mystery Book"....and I finally broke down and read it. The book was EXCELLENT!!!!! I loved Joe and Vernon relationship. The book was funny, sad, happy, and a little twist of romance. The suspense of who killed Raymond almost killed me....but I refused to go to the back of the book. I really enjoyed If Walls Could Talk.....I still don't do (other writers) mysteries, but I can't wait for Mr. Alexandria next book. I have became one of your biggest fans. Thank you for sharing your talent with us Mr. Alexandria.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Done It?, August 7, 2000

Although this book is fast pace, it has it all - intrigue, suspense, romance, murder, and a web of deception. The two detectives have a great relationship & you enjoy the dialogue between the two of them. Can't wait until the author writes his next book. Move over Walter Mosley, there is a new mystery writer in town!

3.0 out of 5 stars a homicide that opened doors for an intimate relationship, June 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: If Walls Could Talk (Paperback)
V. Alexandria "If Walls Could Talk" I would say the book started off slow. Once I got to the murder, the process of elimination was suspenseful, the plot took off and I could not wait to put aside my daily responsibilities, so that I could finish the book. I am not a mystery lover, but after reading "If Walls Could Talk" I am persuaded that V. Alexandria is on his way to many more great mystery novels. As a writer myself, I realize that Vincent Alexandria has much to offer us as readers and writers, I realize mystery novels requires much work and imagination. Toward the end of the book, I felt like I had been seduced into a world that was sad, yet complete. I was moved by Seirra, and Joe's character, that they would take on a responsibility to raise her mother's child, and I think Joe's relationship with Seirra should have been a little more intimate, and Joe's relationship with the late Raymond should have been more descriptive so that, toward the end, I would have appreciated them raising that child together. Over all, I was Thrilled.
