an instant classic...., January 17, 2004

This is the stuff that the dance music in 2002 was made of and the dance music in 2003 was lacking. So hearing Laava at the nearing end of 2003, and this now gives me hope that 2004 is going to be a good year for this style of music. Candee Jay's first single is nothing short of amazing. The lyrics are nice and the vocals are sung with emotion. Her vocals have a touch of Shakira to them, which is nice and refreshing, she doesn't sound like everyone else. This song is great and extremely catchy. I just discovered Candee Jay yesterday (1/16/04), and I was hooked. Later that day, I found this single in a local cd store and I did not hesitate to pick it up. If you are a fan of Alice Deejay, Ian Van Dahl, Laava, or Lasgo, then this is for you, you will not regret this.

Hottest trance song right now!, June 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: If I Were You (Audio CD)
This and Where are You Now? by Ian Van Dahl have to be the best two current trance songs currently playing on the airwaves! This 9 track CD is exceptional, with each of the first 6 being so good and close to the original, I can't chose a favorite. None stray very far from the main song, as so many other trance singles go over the top with complete melody altering versions of the song. This is not the case here. The last 3 tracks are instrumentals and don't do much for me, as this song is made by Candee's voice. Her vocals are amazing and the lyrics run very smoothly (unlike so many other trances songs that try to fill the music with lots of unmoving, out of ryhthm words). One thing for sure is, we need more from Candee!!! I haven't heard or seen any other signs of a second single yet, but there has to be more from this beauty!!
