This is a coming of age story told Hollywood style. Josie is a naive girl who has been sheltered her whole life, but finally dares to follow her dreams. I enjoyed the writing the characters and the overall story. It's teaches lessons on trusting others and yourself. An overall great read.

Definitely the kind of story where I couldn't wait to read what would happen next. Many good laughs along the way.

I read this book while making dinner and dragged it with me into the bathtub because I couldn't put it down.

Nichole Naumann transported me to different worlds, spellbinding me with details of rural hick towns, seedy strip clubs, glittering stage performances, and opulent shorelines of LA. I traveled with the main character across America and shared in her journey.

Josie, the main character, is lovable. She's a sheltered girl with a good head on her shoulders, and as the book unfolded, I bit my nails and cheered for her while she carved her path through a strange new world.

The people Josie meets are unforgettable. They are real people with strange tics and troubled pasts. (I felt a special love for Mickey Solomon.)

The evolution/unveiling of Josie's greatest obstacle to fame made for a fascinating and involving plot.

The clever twists and turns of the story, combined with a strong and lovable lead character, the myriad of quirky settings and memorable characters, spiced with excellent wit, make this book an excellent page-turner that is worth reading a second time.

This was a pretty good read. It could have used more details and something to mark scene changes and a little proofreading to fix some of the errors but it didn't take anything away from the story. It wasn't that bad.
I found this for free and don't regret reading it.
I would give this a PG 13 rating mainly because of the sex and drug use.

What an amazing, cool, dark, twisted, story! It pulled me in from the first page and didn't let me go until I had finished it, still sitting in a stupor and not wanting to let go of this world that the author so painstakingly created.

I don't want to give away anything because the surprises are one of the things that really pull you in. I loved the main character and enjoyed every moment with her as she navigated this treacherous Hollywood wasteland.

It caught me off guard how much I came to care for characters that were very deeply flawed. They were not all inherently good people but I still found myself pulling for them in the end.

Buy this book immediately and settle in for a long night.

the book was suggested by my brother's gf who happens to be friends with the author. well, i started one day and i couldn't put it down. i watched josie rise and fall, and happily climb back to life. the characters were fresh and very developed. Naumann def knows how to paint california, i've only been there twice but those pages made me want to go back so bad...she is a great writer and has a way with words. i am def waiting for another book by her. she had created a new found fan.

This book is a good modern day story with a relateable character. I enjoyed the story and found it hard to put down. Just when you think that this is your typical rags-to-riches, dreams-coming-true story things start to go a little sideways...

It wasn't the best book I've read but for some reason I still couldn't put it down. An easy read.
