I didn't love this book but I didn't hate it either, so I'm stuck somewhere in between. There was just so much foolery going on with these characters it was hard to really enjoy the book. I found myself at times wanting to just stop reading it all together, but like a guilty pleasure I just had to finish it to see how the whole thing turned out. At the beginning I thought this was going to be a good love story between Quinton & Laela, but that relationship slowly went downhill along with most of my interest in the book. Laela's whole interest in woman, and ultimate relationship with her bestie Teniyah really annoyed me. The indecision, treachery, and back and forth was very childish. The idea of the menage was teased throughout the whole book, and when it finally happened in the last chapter the book just ended extremely abruptly.
I'm guessing there will be a sequel since there were so many unresolved issues left on the table. I read this authors other book Valentine prior to this, and I really enjoyed it, so I thought this one would be enjoyable as well, but it fell flat. I would though give him another chance.

Erotic Suspense Novel,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: If You Don't Tell (Paperback)
Sexual antics and twisted friendships are exposed in this erotic suspense novel. Dre, Quinton & Mike are best friends that have a history of throwing huge parties, getting laid on the regular & making their mark on the world. Laela, Teniyah & Simone are home girls but Simone believes something isn't right with Teniyah. As the story unfolds, folks sleep together, orgies happen, friends hate each & someone losses their mind. Hent is an incredible scribe that uses sexual tension to stimulate suspense while you quickly click page after page.

There has got to be a way to find out how LONG a book is on Kindle b4 i buy it LOL... DV warned me after i purchased it, that it was going to be a LONG read and he wasnt lying. Good thing he knows how to write a book to keep his readers ready to turn the page, (or hit the next button) over and over again.
Revenge is a dish best served cold and BOY does Laela find that out the hard way... when her secret desires land her on an emotional path she never saw coming, boy do things change! This book is full of so much, you will be squirming in your seat and breathing hard, imaging yourself in the story! DV is terrific at telling a great classy, sexy story and he def does it this time. I read Valentine and became a fan, before i knew of this book. Way to jump into the literary world, FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!! This was a TNK Review [...]

Scorching HOT!!,
By Black Diamond's Book Reviews (Michigan) - See all my reviews

My first reactions when I finished:
Wow! This book was amazing! I also said: "What--that's it?", "What happens next". The author left me wanting more! My Review: I had to take a break while reading this book and read another book for a book tour. I didn't want to put this book down AT ALL. When I was able to get back to it, I had no problem picking up where I left off. Laela and Quinton seemed like the perfect couple, but they both had issues that they needed to deal with. He had so many women in his past, but he wanted to turn a new leaf and marry Laela and be faithful to her, but can he? Laela, on the other hand, would like to try a threesome. Who would be #3 in their threesome, and will they even go through with it? This book was highly erotic and had a great story to go along with it. I really don't think the scenes could have been any steamier! The sex in this book was scorching HOT! I admit, I was highly aroused while I was reading this book. The characters were well thought out and I really felt connected with them. They seemed so real to me. They had so many things going on, and their lives all got intertwined. I was excited to see how it would all end up! I found my heart racing at times and my heart sinking at other times. I loved also how each chapter was a different character's point of view, and under the character's name the day and time was listed. I am surprised that this is D.V. Hent's first book. I am really looking forward to reading more of his books! Favorite Character: Quinton. of course! I want to see what he does next! Least Favorite Character: Mike. He seems like just a jerk to Simone. I was very surprised what was revealed about him at the end though. I didn't see that coming at all. Favorite New Words From This Book: Mandingo (p.34) Slorny (p.52) Favorite Quote (that doesn't give too much away): P 31. The kiss lingered on my lips; I licked them, hoping to rekindle the sensation, but it was a little too late. My body craved the feeling she'd left.

An intense read...,

Laela is about to get married to a wonderful man, the man of her dreams even. Still, before she takes that step she wants to have one last wild night. When her best friend finds out that Laela's fantasy is to have a three way with another woman, they succumb to those desires together which at first seems innocent until her man to be finds out. When he begins to cheat on her, returning the favor, in a lustful tryst emotions spiral out of control.
Drama, drama, drama! This book is filled with all of the right elements to have me attached to the pages as though I was watching a well played movie. I found myself carrying this book everywhere as I became in love with the characters and the desire to want to know how they planned to get out of the tangled web they so intricately crafted. The drama was so much that I loved to hate some, and felt it coming for others. This definitely is a must read book with unexpected twist and turns. Reviewed by: Terrie White [...] [...]

Escapades,

This review is from: If You Don't Tell (Paperback)
DV Hent with his debut novel has created the wildest fantasies with his characters: Laela, Quinton, and Teniyah; as I can feel the agony, pain, and marriage not made in heaven with Simone's inner thoughts and do not want to be a coke-addict like her mother.
DV Hent, when I read Simone's character, must have studied the woman's anatomy, passion, and emotional side--since I can envision all her thoughts while reading on. I can see myself agreeing with her since I plan to marry and have children someday soon. I think Laela is too south for me, over the edge, to try the unthinkable before marriage with Quinton and will see where this love-roller coaster-will take them all. Do we have a new Eric Jerome Dickey, he is one writer that not only writes well; verbiage-usage; but also knows the essence of a woman! Is there a sequel? There were some parts that were stretched and made the book long, but still good. Dream 4 More Reviews, Adrienna Turner 4 stars: Sweet Dreams

D.V. Hent not only writes erotic scenes but engrosses his readers into the world of sexual escapades, fantasies to be unleashed and on the hush-hush, and relationships go sour as they explore the inevitable--those you confine and share your secrets with.
The story has been told before; sexual affairs; threesomes; and opening the Pandora box with friends. Could D.V. Hent be the next best thing for erotica era--fall between EJD (Eric Jerome Dickey) and Zane? He captures the essence of a woman's sexuality and thoughts including the masculinity of a man's general thoughts when it comes to sex versus intimacy. Ignorance is bliss--dominance rules the bedroom...is where some of the characters take you in "If You Don't Tell". Be careful what you practice, can lead to persistent perverts who continue to pressure you to decide who it will be (you, me or he). Adrienna Turner AAMBC Reviewer
