When my 3 year old daughter asked for an ereader last Christmas, she received an Android tablet with Kindle for Android (as well as other ebook applications). It seems that only recently have illustrated, color children's books began to come to the Kindle. So I was elated to find an indie illustrated, color children's book!

The cute, colorful pictures are great even for children that can't yet read - they can guess the rhyme from the picture, as well as try to find the bird in each picture. The easy to read rhymes are great for new readers. The "story" itself is cute and kept my daughter hooked. This book also has much better formatting than any other illustrated children's Kindle book I have seen.

If you have young kids, buy this book now!

The rhyming text and colorful illustrations make "If You Have a Hat" a cute, enjoyable story for toddlers through kindergarten age. There's no actual storyline, but the rhyming lines and illustrations introduce simple vocabulary words and images of everyday objects like cameras, ships, airplanes, and apples.

It's a fun book with a bit of learning for youngsters.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADORABLE! April 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
this book is ADORABLE!!! not only does my 4 year old sister love it ("that's so silly sis! i love that book!"), but i, at 16 going on 17, enjoyed reading it to her. plus, you can't beat a free book that only takes 1 MB! this book has lots of pages, with a small picture and half a sentence on each page. enjoyable and understandable even on black and white kindles. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Adorable Kids Book April 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This was one of a few ebooks I bought to entertain my niece whilst she was recovering from an operation and she simply adored it! Not only does it have the added advantage of being on the Kindle (which she considers very grown up) but it's in color as well! In fact we read it together several times and she loved repeating the rhymes and looking at the funny illustrations. It's really took her mind off being ill and it was simply lovely to sit snuggled up with a good book with her. She loves reading and this book along with Monsters! ABC - A Beautifully Illustrated Children's ABC Alphabet Rhyming Book were her clear favourites!

4.0 out of 5 stars KEEP IT UNDER YOUR HAT January 5, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Simple and cute story and pictures for toddlers and preschoolers. One line rhymes encourage imagination by asking, "What if?" After repeated readings the child will be able to tell the story independently. The book is perfect for a bedtime story or for car trips. I did feel that the photos used for illustrations might have been a bit larger. The X Ray feature was not enabled on my kindle version. This book is also available in a paperback edition.

Our kids love this book, they are learning English language and they like its simplicity. Pictures look great on our kindle 3, most other childrens books (picture books) look awful on a 3rd gen Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Continuous Rhyme July 13, 2014
By UBizz
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this book for free after seeing it on the Kindle Buffett list. My 3 year old enjoys the book and there is no story but a continuing rhyme that is cute...."if you have a hat, put it on your head, and if you see a bed bug, tuck him up in bed; if you have a seed help it grow into a flower, if you have some bricks, build yourself a tower..."

3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!!!!!
Great illustrations, funny context.
It would be nice if it were longer.
There should be one about a farm or barn yard.
