5.0 out of 5 stars Total Surprise !! - - PLUS UPDATE
I bought these iFROGZ PLUGZ at a retail store because they were on sale for a very low price. I had never heard about them or read a review about them before. I was going to use them only for airline travel if they were any good at all. Well, that was before I tried them out for a couple of days. 2.0 out of 5 stars very tinny sound, and dishonest website reviews, April 16, 2009

I bought these plugs as a backup to the original buds that came with my XM satellite radio. In summary, they sounded very tinny with absolutely NO BASS. But they were only $[...], so I guess you get what you pay for. But what really gets me angry is that I logged on to the www.ifrogz.com website to check the reviews from customers, and they are all very high, 5 star reviews, with no negatives. So I posted a 2 star negative review of my own, and after a week of waiting, it never appeared! So as a test, I posted a 5 star review with a glowing recommendation. And guess what; it showed up on there. And my negative one still has never appeared. That's just plain dishonesty. I refuse to have any sort of dealings with a company that has no integrity. All of my Amazon reviews have always appeared. I should have checked here first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent sound, high comfort level, inexpensive -- a bit more than what you pay for, so what's not to like?, August 13, 2009
I picked these up as a more comfortable alternative to the original earphones that came with my iPod nano. I also use them when I'm listening to anything or watching a movie at my computer, and as an external headphone device to check the sound input on my Canon VIXIA HFS10 Camcorder while I'm filming.

They work quite well for me for all those purposes - while they don't quite surround the ear and eliminate all external sound, they do fill up the ear and do a pretty good job of letting me ignore extraneous noises. I don't want a total immersion experience, since I'd like to hear the phone and be at least somewhat aware of what's going on around me, and these earphones give me that.

They are definitely more comfortable than the original earphones, which isn't saying much, but I like them better than any of the other relatively inexpensive plug-in type earphones I've tried, including the Philips SHE5920 Virtual Surround Sound In-Ear Headphones and the Skullcandy S2INBT-UB INK'D Earbuds. Admittedly, the sound is a bit more tinny than with the Skullcandy, which has a better bass. On quiet songs, I detect a slightly increased noise on these compared to the original Apple iPod headphones. Still, the sound differences are very slight and don't amount to a diminished experience for me. The comfort and the fact that these don't accidentally pull out of my ears as easily as any of the others more than makes up for that, in my experience. Sure there are much better headphones out there -- these are cheap, but comfortable. I'm happy with them, and I'm not really in the market for a top-of-the-line audio experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Total Surprise !! - - PLUS UPDATE, June 17, 2009
By
I bought these iFROGZ PLUGZ at a retail store because they were on sale for a very low price. I had never heard about them or read a review about them before. I was going to use them only for airline travel if they were any good at all. Well, that was before I tried them out for a couple of days. Now they are my favorite pair and I am going to buy another pair today as a backup.

These things defy all logic - they are tiny compared to my other 4 sets (different brands) so I didn't expect anything out of the ordinary with them, least of all the clean thumping bass that these things put out. You can turn the volume way up listening to dance music (or anything with deep
bass) and the rest of the music won't hurt your ears. I bought another brand of earphones last month for 8X the price and the bass is not as good as these. I have been looking for this deep base - without the screaming high notes that my other earphones produce.

Also the handles on the sides are nice and the cord (1 meter) is exactly the right length if you put your player in a front pocket. I wrote this review because I saw a lot of negative reviews on this product which it doesn't deserve - unless there are quality control issues.
I am not the only reviewer that has commented about the GREAT BASS of these iFROGZ PLUGZ.

PRODUCT UPDATE - about 2 weeks later: There appears to be a big quality control problem with these iFrogz Ear Pollution Plugz. I went back to to the same store to get another (backup) set and ended up buying and returning 3 (different color) sets of these iFrogz Plugz. Two of them sounded tinny and one was ok but lacked the bass that the original set had - which I still love. This would explain the wide range of reviews for this product. Since getting that first pair I became very interested in getting another pair with good bass so I ordered a pair of Philips 9700's which claimed they had "turbo bass", a pair or Altec Lansing Backbeat 106's and a pair of V-Moda Bass Freq's.
To make a long story short: If you are looking for the best sound in this price range then the V-Moda Bass Freq's are the only way to go. If you already ordered the iFrogz and receive a good pair (with good bass) - then you will be happy with those too. I use both of these now and the rest of my collection sits in the drawer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great but cheaply made, September 29, 2010

I loved these headphones, they were great at deafening outside noise and the sound quality was top notch. But, they broke after a week and a half of use. I'm not rough on my headphones, so I expected these to last longer than the cheap $5 iPod headphones I had previously... but that wasn't the case with this brand. I am never buying an iFrogz product again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good at first, June 15, 2010

I really loved these headphones at first. They were very comfortable, but within a few weeks they broke. The earpiece broke apart from the cord. I was very disappointed because they sounded good and were so comfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for tiny ears!, January 7, 2010
I have very small ears and find it difficult to use earbuds usually. I have tried many, many types of earbuds and usually they just hurt my ears and fall out every time I move my head. After stumbling upon the ifrogs, I'm happy to say that I am in love! I've had my current pair for almost a year now and use them every day. I actually cut one side off and have the left one in for 7 hours a day at work with no discomfort. How many products can you say that about?! The little things are finally dying so I have to get a new pair but I'm not even looking for another brand!

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh...., October 24, 2009
These earbuds are ok. simply ok, but if you want GREAT quality, go for skullcandy INk'D. bout the same price, but wayy more bass and seal on the ear is tighter. cord is noticeably longer on skullcandy as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable!, March 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I can't wear most earbuds because of the shape of my ear canals. However, these fit perfectly well, with little to no irritation. I was looking for a pair that I could sleep in, and these were recommended here and on several websites. They are exactly as advertised.

1.0 out of 5 stars Get the Coby's, August 24, 2011
I went through 4 pairs of these, 10 bucks at walmart. They kept shorting out, I suspect because it's a straight plug vs. a L-plug. The sound is decent, but not great when compared to Coby CVE92 Isolation Stereo Earphones. The Coby's also have an L-plug, are louder, and are all around superior. Plus, you save five bucks. They may not have the extra silicone bits that fit to your ear, but I had 4 baggies of those by the time I bought them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too many downsides!, April 26, 2011
This review is from: Ifrogz EarPollution Plugz - Headphones ( in-ear ear-bud ) - black, red (Electronics)
I don't like leaving bad reviews, but these headphones are just too frustrating!

1. Sound quality is horrible, THERE IS NO BASS!
2. Those rubber fittings are comfortable, but create an air tight seal in your ear and these are the results:

a. every time cord moves, literally with every step, headphones hit the rubber liner and create an annoying sound like "an out of rhythm heart beat" that's the best I can describe it.
b. You feel like you are underwater! if you are using this for your phone, you cant talk, because you can't hear yourself and you end up yelling! you know when you try to talk when you are listening to music with headphones on and you cant hear yourself so you end up screaming? exactly the same thing only there is no music!

3. Headphones are comfortable but always fall out, I get irritated adjusting them all the time.
4. The cord is way too long and when they don't fall out on their own cord gets stuck on something.
