5.0 out of 5 stars Igloo Roller MaxCold 70
We bought this cooler 4 or 5 years ago because we travel often for weekend getaways. We really have enjoyed it so much, that when the handle broke, I ordered a replacement part from [...]. They have a similar product, however it is very wide in comparison. The tallness and deep lid feature allows for filling it up to the brim and then some. It does keep ice much longer...

3.0 out of 5 stars not too cool.
We have had this cooler for several years now. We have frequently used it and an older different (similar size) cooler side by side for parties and camping. The old junker clearly outdid this "5 day cooler" every time. It has been rare to find any ice in this cooler after 24 hours. I realize that the 5 day test may have been with specific requirements and in a specific...

5.0 out of 5 stars Igloo Roller MaxCold 70, July 4, 2010

We bought this cooler 4 or 5 years ago because we travel often for weekend getaways. We really have enjoyed it so much, that when the handle broke, I ordered a replacement part from [...]. They have a similar product, however it is very wide in comparison. The tallness and deep lid feature allows for filling it up to the brim and then some. It does keep ice much longer than most by far. The claim to 5 days is probably a full chest of nothing but Ice, and not in direct sunlight. It really doesn't matter anyway. It's a great product and very convenient. The handle slides up quite a ways for ease in pulling it, without having to been down. In terms of the price, well it is expensive, but if you can get it on sale, do so. I recommend the 70 QT over the 60 because of the deeper lid, allowing for overfill. Don't you hate it when you fill a cooler, add Ice and you can't close the Lid? Well not likely with this one, sure you could do it, but the deep lid lets you get away with it more often than not. Is it heavy when you fill it? Of course! It's a 70 QT cooler, not 30. Need an easy tranport cooler? Buy this one. I did and 5 years 25,000+ miles later, I bought the replacement handle. I hope this review was helpful. I understnad not everyone has the same needs, however, It is a great product. The Best cooler I have ever owned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel!, January 10, 2008

We have really found this chest to be useful for travel. We don't need ice for 5 days but it keeps frozen things FROZEN for over 2 days and cold things cold. Easier to pick up than a wider cooler as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars not too cool., September 4, 2010

We have had this cooler for several years now. We have frequently used it and an older different (similar size) cooler side by side for parties and camping. The old junker clearly outdid this "5 day cooler" every time. It has been rare to find any ice in this cooler after 24 hours. I realize that the 5 day test may have been with specific requirements and in a specific setting. the bottom line though is that this cooler just doesn't live up to its own standards. The handle and rollers have taken a good deal of abuse and held up fine. This is an easy to move, 1 day party cooler, but not so suitable for camping or long road trips. There are no signs, but I suppose it is possible that we have a defective cooler (uneven insulation inside the walls or something).

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but overpriced, March 28, 2008

The cooler is almost identical to the 60qt cooler with exception of a different lid which gives more internal clearance. You actually save money buying the 60qt and upgraded lid. This cooler would be more fairly priced at $39.99. Lastly, the colors are inconsistent. You may order it think it looks like the picture but it may be a very light blue instead of the dark one shown.

Besides all that, it's a good cooler, the 60-qt is just a much better deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cooler Ever, June 24, 2011

It travels very well, my son has track meets three times a week and this cooler is a life saver. At first I was carrying three bags now all I have to do is put every thing in one cooler. It's very hot here in Texas so I have yet to get 5 days from this cooler. Other than that I would like to have a tray to separate certain items, and I would ask that the top not pop off so easy.

I only needed to keep some ice blocks for a day. It worked wonderfully for that. I left the remainder in there and it sat outside in over 100 degree weather for three days before I came out to check it. It was only water in there, but it was super cold to the touch! If I had properly pre-cooled it as you're supposed to do (chill the box with a first round of ice for a day or so before filling it will already chilled items) then it likely would have lasted even longer and with more ice left. The dimensions are also magnificent! Easy to carry, not too long or bulky, and with the overfill top it holds a ton!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS THING IS HUGE!, June 21, 2011

This is really a great looking cooler - much more attractive than the flat blue or flat red ones you see everywhere. So far, it works as advertised, and definitely keeps items cold for several days (with partially melted ice still in it). It's absolutely HUGE, so make sure to take note of measurements before purchasing!

Great cooler kept ice for a good 3 days in and out of the mini van. Sat for hours at the ball field and still had a cooler full of ice.

I got this and the regular igloo cube. This one kept ice way better. Twice as long at least. My boyfriend and I used them both as checked luggage on Southwest. Fit all our gear inside and strapped them shut.

5.0 out of 5 stars best cooler ever!, February 16, 2012
This review is from: Igloo Ice Cube MaxCold 70 Roller (Sports)
We bought this a few years ago (in the store). I just wanted everyone to know how awesome this unit is. It has been used and slightly abused for many summers and still operates like the day we bought it. I recommend this cooler over any other cooler in this size. Also, it makes a great extra seat in the boat (not recommended by manufacturer) when fishing. That is all.
