One of Samael Aun Weor's more poetic works, Igneous Rose deals primarily with elemental and plant magic but also contains wonderful and enriching chapters on the nature of the mind, white tantra, dream yoga, initiation, etc. Definitely a work you will want to study before planting the spiritual garden in your consciousness and the literal garden in your backyard. I recommend studying this work alongside "Occult Medicine and Practical Magic" by the same author.

A soft enchanting and beautifully flowing book of esoteric wisdom. I love rereading parts of it like I do others of the masters books but this one has a special place in my heart..

The souls of the plants are the elementals of Nature. These innocent creatures have not yet left Eden, and for this reason, they have not yet lost their igneous powers...

This book smells of a forest. This book smells of a mountain....

I recently finished studying this book. I chose to read it through twice to try and solidify the depth of information that this book has. Still, this is a book that will have to be revisited many times. I mention this in that for those who have stumbled upon this review and book, the heart and mind should be somewhat attuned, to say the least.

We see from the book written prior to this book I.e. `The Seven Words', that this dealt with the creation of the Astral Body, third initiation of Major Mysteries. If we look at the information in the book `Encounter with Samael' by Rafael Vargas and Javier Casan, `Igneous Rose' was mostly written prior to 1954, "more like from the year 1952 or 1953". We are told that `Igneous Rose' is not an extension of the book `Occult medicine and Practical magic "because in the essence of Igneous Rose we find the processes Master Samael Aun Weor lived in the fourth initiation of Major Mysteries. Igneous Rose is, therefore, a treatise about the mind, the understanding, the creative imagination and comprehension, and this means that we can readily find in its pages that which we long to know about the mind."

I can see why some would like to say that this book is an extension of the book `Occult Medicine...' this is due to the wonderful information on the elementals with the Trees of Juniper, Apple, Cedar, Pine, Tolu and Fig. Included also are the elementals with the Pumpkin Gourd, Saffron, Tuberose, Cinnamon, Frankincense, Myrrh, Aloe and Peppermint Plant. The reason given for stated that this book is not an extension of `Occult Medicine...' is that the elementals of these plants and trees are of a help towards the creation of the Mental Body. I will at this point refer to the words of the V.M.Samael "To be born is a sexual problem and the only path is that of the Perfect Matrimony".

We are also told from `Encounter with Samael' that "`Igneous Rose' is directed to those brothers of the fourth initiation of Major Mysteries." While this is definitely true and I would be glued to this book while going through this fourth initiation, this in no way means that those who are not at this level cannot gain from reading this marvelous book.

Second Christmas Message 1953

So it is also in the year that the `Mystery of the golden Blossom' was written we have the 2nd Christmas message. The Book `Gnosis in the 20th Century' contains all of the Christmas messages (talks) from 1952 - 1963. Unfortunately this book, to date, I have only found in Spanish. This 2nd Christmas message deals with the following: Forming Christ within us, to reject the murder Barabbas and to choose Christ, that Christ is a PARAMARTASATYA (I.e. Has awakened the absolute consciousness) and an inhabitant of the Absolute, the mystery behind the creation of the universes - the fertilization of the female principle (Father: Fire, Mother: Water, Son: Cross, governor of the Cosmos), the mystery of the Cross (INRI), Kundalini Fohat etc.

Also "We should liberate ourselves from all the cosmic planes...stop existing & move onto being, being is...beyond karma & the gods." - `Encounter with Samael' pg 180.
