Editorial Reviews

OUT OF PRINT 12-trk 1997 sampler CD from now-defunct label contains the original mixes of Matthew Sweet "The Ballad Of El Goodo" and Big Star "Hot Thing" from the long-delayed Big Star tribute album "Big Star Small World." These tracks appeared on this sampler a full ten years before the CD was released! Mike Mills of R.E.M. plays with Sweet, and The Posies' Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow back Big Star on "Hot Thing." Both mixes are unique to this CD. Other artists on the disc include Samiam, BTK, Stem, Supersuckers, and more. Color insert and picture disc.
