Editorial Reviews

Review

“The Erma Bombeck of the Bible strikes again with another zany and often poignant look at everyday life. You’ll laugh out loud as Marsha discusses topics ranging from dealing with in-laws to keeping pet guinea pigs alive.”
–Michael Morris, author of A Place Called Wiregrass and Slow Way Home

“With plenty of humor, honesty, and insight, Marsha encourages us to lift our heads out of the sand and see life for what it really is–both tremendously challenging and amazingly rewarding. So come up for some air and have a good read. It just might change your life.”
–Martha Bolton, author of numerous books of humor including Didn’t My Skin Used to
Fit?

4.0 out of 5 stars Lucille Ball of Christianity September 13, 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I know Marsha Marks. She lives close to my neighborhood. And yes, she's as crazy in person as the stories in her book. But she's also an intelligent person who is passionate about her writing. She seems to have a knack for getting herself in trouble like Lucille Ball. The opening story about putrid eggs exploding on the wall is worth the price of the book by itself. She also makes some good points along the way. Light, entertaining reading. This book makes you think about God without being pushy about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ouch June 14, 2010
By Sandee
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
After 35 years of correcting grammar and punctuation mistakes I thought I could just relax and lower my antennae for such things. Having completed 50% of this book, I had to vent. The younger, not youngest of TWO children died. Semi-colon, not comma, between two independent clauses. Who, not whom, as a subject of a clause. We're, not were. I gave up after counting 12 missing apostrophes for possessives....Spell-check doesn't catch everything. Where's the editor? I feel better now; maybe I can enjoy the content.

A co-worker gave this book to me as a present. I read it in one day. Very entertaining and easy to read. I particularly liked the story about the Communion. Outrageous stories....good to know I'm not the only one :-)
