Comment: This is a good ex-library copy with a few of the usual library markings on the booklet, rear cover insert, and a couple on top of the disc. The disc is near flawless and like new on the bottom. The booklet is clean and free of rips. The rear cover insert contains only minor wear. The case is brand new.

I don't know exactly how James Conlon has managed to make so many excellent recordings without become one of the biggest names in the business. This recording is a great example. To my ears, Conlon's Symphony in 3 Movements blows away Ansermet, Ashkenazy, Boulez, Davis, Klemperer, Maazel, Mata, Rozhdestvensky, and even Stravinsky himself. The only other version that gives it a run for its money is Michael Tilson Thomas' excellent LSO version. Both versions are crackling with punchy energy, without losing balletic poise. The recorded sound is wonderful, and Jeu de Cartes is a fun bonus. Well worth picking up.
