Ikelite Underwater Housing for Canon SD780, Ixus 100

I purchased this housing as the version designed by Canon was out of stock. Figuring that Ikelite has a long history of underwater housings I was paying more but would get a better designed product. Unfortunately, I was wrong in that assumption. While the housing seems "more robust" than any Canon housing I've used for the Powershot cameras (I have owned three different models) it also seemed overkill for the purpose. The housing is much bulkier than any Canon I have purchased but this also translates into controls that are very hard to use. Most specifically, at depth the mode selector switch (which changes between camera modes and video mode) did not work due to poor design. To add insult to injury, the zoom control is also poorly designed making that function of the camera very difficult to use (sometimes it worked and other times it did not and when it did it was VERY touchy). On the plus side, my camera stayed dry after a few dives and did not show any signs of leakage or flooding. In summary, steer clear of this housing and buy the Canon model as you will be much happier and will also save some money.
