Purchased this as already had the camera and wanted something for both scuba and snorkeling. Only have had an opportunity to use for one trip and the ocean was a bit murky so didn't get the full experience. But the whole system with the flash worked right out of the box with no issues e.g. no leaking. It was easy to set up and take pics but need more practice to get the best pictures. The top adjustment to change the mode needs a bit of adjustment to turn more easily. The lever for taking pics was easy to use.

I purchased this underwater camera housing and the matching Nikon Coolpix s9100 camera for a trip to Maui, summer 2011. I will just say that this trip was a one-time only vacation. We saved and planned for years. I really thought long and hard about buying this because of the price, but as it turns out, the pictures are amazing. I was very pleased with this product.

However, the Nikon Coolpix s9100 camera stopped working two days into the trip. Brand new camera and it froze. Completely inoperable. Turns out it is a common problem with this version of Coolpix. Our only option was to buy another camera. Couldn't find a s9100 anywhere, but was able to get the s8100. With some cardboard and duct tape we were able to modify the Ikelite housing for the new camera but still only enough to snap a picture. No other functions possible. We still came away with amazing images that I will always cherish.

Still waiting to hear if the s9100 can be fixed. In all honesty, I was really loving that camera. I have always purchased cameras from another brand, but saw the Coolpix reviews and thought I would give it a try. I have three young daughters and I need to get a great shot on the first try and often with only one hand available and this camera was meeting all my expectations. Very disappointed when it stopped working and equally disappointed with my call to Nikon's customer service. I am still attempting to get the s9100 fixed for the future, but if I had to do it over again, I would have gotten the Ikelite and the Coolpix s8100.
