5.0 out of 5 stars Phil & Don, April 1, 2000
By A Customer
This is a fascinating story of family and the pop culture of America. Filled with interviews, quotes, and photos, the book documents the move of Ike and Margaret Everly from the coal mines of Kentucky to Chicago and throughout the Midwest in search of success in the music business, as well as the successes and personal pain of their sons. A must read for fans of rock and roll, social historians, and Everly fans. I loved it, couldn't put it down, and had to have my own copy. Phil and Don are presently touring every year and play in their parents' hometown every Labor Day weekend. Like their story, the music never grows stale.

3.0 out of 5 stars soft sell; superficial, September 10, 1999
By A Customer
Having read the book and knowing some of the facts this is a very traditional writing of facts well known. Of course the Everly's are not ones to be very open, but better research could have been available. Years of abusenot even touched upon

5.0 out of 5 stars A (MUST HAVE)for all Everly fans., August 4, 1999
I found this book to be fascinating,I just could not put it down. I learned a lot about the Everlys (things I did not know before). There are lots of photos and it covers their entire lives. I would certainly recommend Ikes Boys to all Everly fans everywhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Silly Teenaged stuff
This book was a gosh-golly-gee whiz book with no substance. Notworth my time, certainly. It was nothing more than Everly fanmail. These people do NOT walk on water!
