funky sultry evocative, March 30, 2007

This release is titled "Ikon" not "Do You Dream" and it's on Jalapeno Records (JAL 19CD). Amazing piece of lounge/downtempo. From the breathy flute of "Indulgence" to the steamy bedroom voice of brazilian chanteuse, with a myriad of flavours in between - the cds a find. Six different female vocalists - each bringing something different to this release.
I particularly liked the painfully slow rendition of "Calling You" by Kirsty Hawkshaw - quite different from the familiar version. Definitely worth a listen.
