Editorial Reviews

GDM Music releases the OST by Ennio Morricone for the 1973 movie "Il serpente" directed by Henry Verneuil, based on the novel by Pierre Nord "Le 13eme suicide". The movie is starred by an all international stars cast: Yul Brynner, Dirk Bogarde, Henry Fonda, Philippe Noiret, Farley Granger, Virna Lisi, Michel Bouquet. An adviser from the russian embassy in Paris asks for political asylum and starts to reveal secrets that involve unsuspected people, in the soviet spy web in the west .The revelations of the adviser cause a series of suicides, resignations and dismissals. The noir atmosphere of the cold war plots is background with the suitable experimental and dramatic kind music score by Ennio Morricone. The coolest piece of music of the OST is the yearning and suspended main theme "Canzone lontana" with the Edda Dell'Orso performance. For this special edition the complete stereo master tapes were used that gave the chance to realize a CD with material previously unreleased in the original album. LIMITED PRESSING
