This youthful trumpeter brings a sense of true feeling to this mournful tune ..... especially meaningful to those of us who were participants in war.

Melissa is very talented and so is the play piece. She also did a version of this with Andre Rieu and Orchestra which, if you can believe it, is even more haunting. The full orchestra takes the place of the piano and wow!! You can search for it on line and play it for free. She did that version when she was 13 and now some years later she does this one but the first far out weighs this latest.

The emotional effect of Il Silenzio is almost the same as Taps. It makes me tear up just like Taps. The melody is haunting and emotional. It takes me back to when I was in charge of the Army funeral detail in Germany. It is something that I would want played at my own military funeral when I pass on just before Taps.

Very moving, would use it at a military funeral, trumpet playing is very, very good. I mean it is excellent for someone so young.

The use of "Taps" as counterpoint to the melody is thrilling. What a wonderful tribute to "The Fallen" in "Operation Market Garden". The trumpet is ideal as a way to set the military tone. Nini Rossi was inspired when he composed this tribute.
