It absolutely amazes me that this film has not become what photo class teachers hand out to their wide-eyed little pupils. The depth, range, pure quality of this film is amazing. It is not a subtle difference that no one but photo fiends can see in full size print either.

People who have never even printed a picture in their lives can look at just a negative produced from this film and one produced from, say, Kodak T-Max 400 and tell you which one is more, well, expressive. I actually had a friend of mine, who was looking at one of my negative notebooks, flip past the Ilford addiction and into the old material and look at me and say (about the negatives taken with Kodak and other films) "these are all messed up." They weren't "messed up." They were just, well, blah.

This is the film of professionals, at a price less than films that a professional wouldn't take pictures of his or her cat with.

Don't take my word for it - get just one roll and try it out. You will be addicted.

Just getting into film and learned that HP5+ requires special, D76 or Microphen processing. That means, it cannot be developed at places like Wal-Greens, CVS, etc.

The XP2 (as previously stated) is a typical C41 type however.

I found a couple of rolls of this film in my son's things from a high school photography class. They were one and two years past expiration. I love processing film at home and scanning the negatives. I used a vintage Fujica st701 camera, shot both rolls and processed them with leftover D76 chemicals assuming it would be a waste. They turned out great! A bit grainy for old film, but quite satisfactory.

The order was exactly what I needed. Thank you for the great service and product. I have already used one roll and it is what I was expecting.

This is a wonderful 400 speed film that does not underexpose. Grain is visible but this in itself creates a different look.
