Funk Doc Strikes Again!,
By
This review is from: Ill At Will Mixtape Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Generally speaking, I'm against mix tapes. However, Redman did me right on this one. All stuff I haven't heard before, and Redman is on every track. Also a very good idea to let his boy Icarus shine on a couple of joints, cause that cat is NICE. A couple of my boys said the knock against the great Reggie Noble was that he couldn't freestyle. He quickly dispels that myth on this album. If you like Redman and you don't have this, please fix that. You will thank me later.

Like It,
This review is from: Ill At Will Mixtape Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
I like Redman he is the most slept on MC in the rap game and he still manages to stay above water. This mixtape is good as any and is worth having in your collection. My favorite song is "I C Dead People" I like how they all contribute a verse even though there old verses anyways can't wait for his new album Red Gone Wild. I recommend to all rap fans to buy this album it is worth every penny.

Greatest Mix tape of the year,

When I first poped it in I was like why would the DOC do such a thing. Most fans want a whole album. Then you listen to all the hits and find out that this mix tape in not like most. The production on this more like something you would expect for him on DefJam. I see Dead People is a true classic and Vol 2 should be just a great a CD.

Redman never fails to deliver,

For any true Redman fan who has been tuned since his first appearnace on EPMD's "Hardcore", and loyally purchasing his albums since "Whut Thee Album", I must say that this comes to no surprise.
The one thing I know about buying a Redman album, is I know what I am getting, and that is pure Redman, not that watered down industry crap. I cannot wait for Red Gone Wild, and I certainly cannot wait for The mixtape volume 2. Check out the track "Brick Intentions" and you will know why The Funk Dr. Spot will always be on top. PS. Method should learn a thing or two from Red... Cause that last album Meth was totally and complete garbage... Thanks for selling out and falling off. Much Respect Redman!

Need some underground Redman?,

This is the place. Ill at Will is Redman branching away from Def Jam (which he makes pretty clear on the second track, actually calling out Def Jam). Very stripped down beats, lots of freestyle rhymes, and Redman returns to his clever/hilarious lyrical roots (unlike Malpractice, where he seemed to substitute "annoying" for "humorous"). This is worth it for Redman fans.

This is a good album. He needs to come out with another album but this is a nice mix tape. Redman is one of the best rappers and is definantly top 50 of all time. He does great on this album. The Beats are pretty good to.This is still a nice album.

Hey everbody, I just wanted to tell the whole world, don't sleep on this joint right here. I didn't even know it dropped until I searched redman on amazon.com, but check this "mixtape" out. I can't explain how ill Icarus is, you just gotta listen to it for yourself. You know Redman will always give you a quality product, so check it out, it's well worth it. Oh yeah, there is a volume 2 to this that is already out, GO COP THAT, YOU NEED THAT IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!
