4.0 out of 5 stars A more posse mixtape from the Gilla crew
Basically pretty much anything that Redman puts out is better than 95% than the rest of the junk thats out there. That sort of quality is exactly what makes this mixtape not quite as great as you would hope for but trying to follow up the just about perfect mixtape that was Ill At Will Vol. 1 is no easy task. Funk Doc should be drops some great stuff this time around...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixtape style !
This is a decent mixtape from REDMAN. Flows in & out of tracks very well and all around put together good. A few good freestyles on here as well. I'm a fan of Redman so this is a nice addition to my CD Library. I still think "Dare Iz A Darkside" and "Muddy Waters" are his best albums but he has alot of good material out. Everybody that i know was saying that his new album...

Funk Doc should be drops some great stuff this time around though. I can't think of much from Red that would warrant a need to press fast forward on here. Some of the highlights of his on here for me are: 8 1/2 mile, Da Banger, Gilla Grind 4 Hoes, and Turn Dat (...) Up. Also on this tape Saukrates and Icarus each get 2 solo cuts each on here. Pretty much im not sure that either of them are quite up to par to carry themselves yet with Icarus failing to impress on either of his but Saukrates does have a pretty decent track with Saukrates season. Overall this is a good little bit of fresh material to hold you over until whenever the hell Red Gone Wild drops.

Love Redman and this has him being his normal funky self. Can't wait for the new studio album but this will tied you over until then.

4.0 out of 5 stars Let's hope Red's album is at least this good (4 Stars), October 14, 2005

No question -- Reggie Noble's latest mixtape beats the hell out of 95% of the other mixtapes out there in terms of replay value, something mixtapes always seem to lack. Ill at Will Vol. 1 was just a shade better, but Vol. 2 is more of a showcase of the Gillahouse crew, rather than Red killing it on every single track. Red still manages to go off on every track he appears on, but you can't blame the Funk Docta Spot for bringing the heat, can you?

Deeper Cover with Red, Icarus and Saukrates is a great remake of the Dre & Snoop classic "Deep Cover." Turn That [...] Up is a vintage Reggie Noble club banger -- I actually prefer it over his current single, Rush Da Security. Saukrates Season is a nice solo by Big Sox, that also somehow managed to receive crazy airplay on urban radio up in Toronto. But probably the most memorable track is the bonus track, You're So Gangsta, a spoof of Twista's "You're So Sexy." This track is mad funny, and it even has Reggie mimicking the way Twista spits.

Redman's already renewed every ones faith in him, let's just see if Def Jam decides to release his album sometime this decade. But if you need a quick Funk Docta fix, this mixtape's for you.

Best moments: You're So Gangsta, Deeper Cover feat. Icarus & Saukrates, Party People (Freestyle), Saukrates Season, and Turn That [...] Up (favourite).

Everybody that i know was saying that his new album "Reggie" is not that good so i was looking for something that i have never heard from him before to pick up. If you dig Redman you will probably like this cd . Definitely worth picking up for anybody into Hip Hop or Funk Doc. Check it out !

Good mixtape album, even the songs not featuring Red maintain the same "Reggie Noble" feel to it

4.0 out of 5 stars Consistency From A Rap Legend in The Making, June 7, 2005
This review is from: Ill At Will V.2 (Audio CD)
This "mixtape" is hot. It's not as good as the first Gilla House Mixtape, but it still is vintage Redman, as usual, Redman delivers as well as Icarus and Saukrates, and newcomer Melanie, in my opinion, the first it better, but any fan should have both, Look out for Volume 3, hopefully dropping soon!!!!!!!!
