Still One Of The Greatest of Our Time!!,
This review is from: I'Ll Be With You (Audio CD)
I remember the first time I heard this project. I was in college, and one of my friends from San Francisco-Bay Area told me that she had this project on TAPE (yeah, really dates me). Needless to say, I was in awe that this was the same man that did "I Need Your Spirit" on Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir Project from 1986. He has always been one of my main male vocal inspirations(Gospel or any other genre), and this project shows why. He is the reason many of us in church wanted to be lead singers. The man has SKILLS and is trained in classical and jazz. I've always felt that he hasn't received his just due. If you want to know what skilled singing is, get this project. My favorites have always been the title cut, "What Moved Him," "Hold On Till You Bless Me," "More Like Jesus," and "Romans 10." He is truly a giant in the Gospel Music industry!

Here's yet another fantastic album that is almost impossible to find. It's amazing to consider that even back in 1988 when this album was released, Daryl had already been singing for years. But one listen will convince the listener that, oh yes, he's been singing for a while. This kind of artistry comes only with experience.Songs like "Worthy Is The Lamb" and "I'll Be With You" are what built Daryl Coley's well-deserved reputation for being an anointed song stylist. This album is also blissfully spared from the production excesses that made even some gospel albums from the 80's sound hopelessly dated. I can't say that it sounds brand new. But the work has aged well. Minister Coley was and is a master artist doing what he does best - using the gift of song that the Lord blessed him with. This project is one of his best.

If Daryl Coley was added to the "Periodic Table of Elements", this is "it" in it's rearest and virgin form. No extras, fats, fillers or comercial, over comtemperary, mainstream stuff. No playing around on this recording. This is true "GOSPEl MUSIC"(ROM: 10) Music " TO " the Soul

Listening to these songs is like tapping into the depths of your soul. The words that he sings are very relevant to everyday life and a God that is there to see you through everyday problems. His music is truly prayer in song. Daryl Coley is truly an anointed and gifted singer.
