5.0 out of 5 stars A laugh out loud, quick, must read!!
This book is awesome! I'm not normally a chic-lit fan, but a friend of mine recommended the book and I decided to give it a try. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! There are few books that actually make me laugh out loud, but this achieved it several times! Once I started, I couldn't put it down and found myself identifying with many of the leading ladies. 1.0 out of 5 stars pity party
This book was awful. There was nothing likable in it - not the main characters, not the side characters, and certainly not the plot. It would be better renamed PITY PARTY as that is exactly what it was. everyone feeling SO sorry for themselves. and then when they couldn't bear the pain they all get stinking drunk. fall down drunk. YOu would think by the thirties...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book Most Women Can Relate To, June 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Wow!!! What a great book. The main characters keep you laughing and crying with them through out. I'm sure most women can relate to at least one of the characters in this book because I know I did. I love that you get to see the point of view from each character about what has taken place. It's not a one sided story as most things in life are not. This is a must read book. If you are offended by foul language and sexual situations please don't read. Though I say you are missing out if you don't. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulously Fun!, April 13, 2009

This review is from: I'll Have Who She's Having (Paperback)
"I'll Have Who She's Having" is a fabulously fun read. Beware! You WILL laugh out loud and often. There's not a woman out there who doesn't relate to some aspect of this story, and finding yourself or your friends in these pages is part of the fun. This is a smartly written, crafty tale of two sisters, a stable of men, a stable husband, and an over-the-top mother. I dig "chick lit" and this is a bright spot in the landscape. Pick it up, enjoy it and join the crowd anxiously awaiting the next offering from these two enterprising authors.

I read this book in a day. It was well written and something I particularly enjoy is enjoying different points of view from the characters. Well rounded story that will appeal to a wide range of people. Do yourself a favour and give it a try. Can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining, March 22, 2009

This review is from: I'll Have Who She's Having (Paperback)
I am a chick lit maniac and have been deploring the sorry state of chick lit for a while now - until I bumpbed into the website: Chicklitisnotdead.

I was thrilled to discover that not only was there a website, but the authors of this site had actually written a chick lit book - which I immediately got my hot little hands on.

I am thrilled to have discovered such a hidden treasure. I'll Have Who She's Having is written by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke and details the life of two sisters who love each other, but are worlds apart (or so it seems at the beginning of the book) from each other.

I don't normally like my books to be told from different point of views, but in this case, I was glad to make an exception as it was extremely interesting and fun to read the sisters different view point. One sister is happily (?) married while the other one is struggling to find a good relationship.

Both characters are written smartly and in an interesting way. I liked that the authors did not make the single one "desperate" and the married one "smug and boring".

There are some interesting twists in this book and the clear message is that you should not judge what you see as being the entire truth in life. The grass may NOT always be greener on the other side.

I liked the open, honest and funny writing style the authors have and I found this book completely engaging.

This book is smart and funny and leaves the reader feeling happy and hopeful for her own circumstance. Family relationships can be very complicated, and it's fun getting inside the heads of these two sisters. They are certainly two girls who'd be fun to hang out with!! Five stars!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing Spin on Chick Lit, February 5, 2009
This review is from: I'll Have Who She's Having (Paperback)
First, I love Chick Lit. The authors have a blog called chicklitisnotdead.com and you should check it out! It's for anyone who still believes in the genre...who still wants the book about the girl who finds her knight in shining armor.

For me, the book is a refreshing spin on chick lit because it's told in the dual narrative. I loved being able to get inside both sisters' heads as they experienced the same event. One of the lead characters, Kate, reminds me of Bridget Jones. She's quirky, funny, and lovable. Both sisters have funny, yet real perspectives on their lives. Kelly is married with a child but questions everything. Kate is single, depressed about yet another bad break up and worried she'll never find 'the one'. It reminds me of when Charlotte from Sex and The City breaks down and screams, "I just want to find him! Where is he?"

This book is smart, witty, and will make you laugh!
