Heartwarming Family Classic, March 22, 2006
This review is from: I'll Be Home For Christmas (VHS Tape)
I searched for years for this family classic. They sometimes show this movie on the Family Channel, but nothing beats having your own copy to watch again and again. It is the touching story of a family and their joys and sorrows during Christmas and wartime in the 1930's 0r 1940's. Hal Holbrook and Eva Marie Saint really shine as the parents of one daughter and three sons, one of whom will be killed in a plane crash coming home to reunite with his expectant bride, portrayed by Courtney Cox. Get out the hot cocoa, the popcorn and the Kleenex, and get ready to enjoy a Christmas Family Classic that you will treasure for many, many years!

classic, July 23, 2007
This review is from: I'll Be Home For Christmas (VHS Tape)
this under-rated movie should be a classic holiday family film. I watch and taped this on the night it originally aired. As a military wife, this one hits home, for anyone with family members from this era, it will ring true with memories of their stories. It hits all the points of what life was like then, in small town America during WWII. I was thrilled to find it available for sale, I only wish it was on disc as well. If you buy 1 movie for your holiday collection--make it this one...

This is what Christmas is all about., October 20, 2010
This review is from: I'll Be Home For Christmas (VHS Tape)
This movie show a family that endures tragedy and hardships during WWII like most families of that era. They struggle through heartbreak and emerge stronger. Family and love are the essences of this story - and that is, after all, what Christmas is all about. I cannot BELIEVE that this has NOT been released on dvd, that's un-American! I taped it years ago from Lifetime Channel, but haven't seen it on since.
