I have read this book every night to my daughter for months now.
HSHOW
Also fun - it has a green dog/teddy bear that's a close match for Scout, if your kid has one of them.
William M. Wilson
We read it every night as the very last part of our bedtime routine.

I have a slightly different version of this book - it has a picture of a little boy hugging the moon instead of the boy and his mother on the cover. It is a sweet bedtime ritual, with just the right amount of text on each page in a flowing rhyme style that children will soon learn off by heart. I would recommend this book for children 2 - 6 years of age, especially children with fears of the dark or monsters or of just being alone at bedtime. I was very impressed with the cover of this book, there is no dust jacket to get torn and neither is it made of cardboard that would soon get creased with use. The poem ends with the promise of "...and I'll see you in the morning".

This is such a loving and comforting story about how you will always be there to protect your little one as they sleep through the night. The rhymes are good, the illustrations are soft and reassuring, just like the words themselves. I read this with my two year old and we both enjoy it together immensely.

We really love this book and have been reading it to our daughter since she was born (she's now 2). It is a very sweet bedtime book that imparts a warm feeling about bedtime and how the parent is nearby if the child needs her... One of my favorite lines, "Don't be afraid of darkness. Don't be afraid my sweet; the night is just a blanket that helps the earth to sleep." Adorable illustrations, too...I have bought it for 3 of my friends' children as well and everyone loves it!

I absolutely love this book! It is part of our bedtime routine - always the last one to be read. I love the sweet message of reassurance, particularly the phrase, "I'll be here if you need me, I'm only steps away". The font is unique and seems to interest my little one! The illustrations are whimsical and interesting. A great book that is not so popular that everyone has it - I'll be using it for baby gifts from now on!

This is really a beautiful book. Wonderfully illustrated. The story itself is peaceful and lilting. My 1 1/2 year old MUST be read this book each night; we spend a lot of time pointing and gazing at the stars and other cosmic beauties. It's a great book!

This is a lovely bedtime book that's just a touch shy of great. The rhymes don't quite feel metered perfectly, and it's a little on the sappy side... but it's luminous and peaceful, and my go-to bedtime choice if the sprog is being particularly squirrely. It's not as much *fun* as, say, a Boynton book, but sometimes fun is not a priority at bedtime. My son likes the simple drawings of animals and the little boy and his mama and his green teddy bear that appear over and over. I'll be buying copies for friends with new babies.

We found this book quite on accident - a local produce/imported foods/discount book store (interesting, I know) had it among its stacks for young children and, thinking the picture on the front was cute, we purchased it. Oh my. Best find of our lives! We've been reading it to our daughter since she was 2 months old, and now she is nearly 8 months old. She loves to touch the pages and certain ones really excite her (usually the "I will stay and watch a while til you are counting sheep" part and the "under the same moon" page where all the little animals are together under the moon). As gentle parents with gentle nighttime rituals and practices, we love the "I'll be here if you need me, I'm only steps away" aspect of the book. We also have two black cats, so there's a bit of extra personalization we can do with the pages featuring the kitties.

Bonus: it's short and memorable, which comes in handy when you're in the car or far from home and don't have the book nearby. All I have to do is softly say, "I'll see you in the morning" and she smiles and settles in. Hooray for this book!

This quickly became our favorite bedtime story. Our little two-year-old loves the moon and stars, and he has a little green dog that looks much like the bear in the book. It is very sweet.
