Rather Read says:
Franzen is such a whiner. I've tried very hard to read his books, but failed.
Is it a sin in his world to be happy?

I agree, Ratherread. Franzen is pompous, overrated, fatuous, ick. He's an embarrassment to quality, nuanced and well, good contemporary writing. I just heard his interview on NPR and for such a simple minded fellow, he must look in the mirror and see genius!

Yeah, he's a whiner. He should simply suck it up and stop trying to look beneath the surface.

Yeah, it's a sin if it means judging a book you haven't read.
