After reading this book I come away with questions as to why Americans are devided. I mean is not illegal entry into this country seen as a bad thing? Too, too many Americans say "These people come here for a better life." Yes they do. But reality says you do not allow someone to move into your home uninvited. Even more you do not start to take people into your home when you are ill-equipped to care for those in your home. Unemployment amoung Black men, is three times the national rate. At the same time we are not going to improve the plight of the people who are already citizens but we then take pity on some people from outside, to try to look compassionate.
Well here is how we stop the flow. We enforce those laws already on the books, and we then add teeth to those law, and close all loopeholes. If as is widely reported they are here to do jobs Americans refuse to take, try paying a living wage. Besides, as cold as this may sound, if you as an individual who cannot feed and house yourself properly you have no business procreating in the first place.
These "Swiss Cheese" borders offer a terrorist an easy entry into the United States, and the terrorist know this. So learn Spanish, and blend right in. We have a habit of half doing our job anyway so this is no big. Of course too many bleeding hearts say this is not the point. So look at health care in America, and how the entry of illegal aliens have overburdened this system, which was faulty at best without the added burden of illegal peoples. Next that stupid law that says born here, makes you a citizen, is just plain stupid. Many illegal aliens come here pregnant just to gain a foot hold in this country, by having their babies here. Our education system is such a mess that we have to do something to stop this madness. We used to have music, art, and physical education, not to mention math, and science, but because we now have to pay for a bunch of people from mostly Mexico have made this impossible.
This is all eloquently laid out by this author, and how Wall Street likes it this way. It is that slave labor mentality we have yet to get over. And why not we as a nation have yet to solidly destroy the concept of sweat shop labor. People working for pennies a day. Blame it on WTO.
This author outlines the lack of safety, and the likelyhood of another 9/11. What are we going to do about it anyway. We refused to stop this disaster before. We ignored those who sounded the alarm before.
A government impotent, because of Wall Street where nothing means nothing but money. You as tax payers cannot get what you have paid for, a quality education for your children, because your government sees fit to spend this money on others. Not just those from of south of the border but there are a great many illegal people who come here from Europe, on vacation visas, and disappear into the populous, never to be heard of again. Never mind some of these people have criminal records, as do some of those from south of the border, and from nations where there is a totally inefficient means of keeping criminal records. So we know not who we have in our country.
The author warns we need to even to take a new look at legal immigration as well, not to mention refugee status. Who are we allowing into our country, and whose country is it anyway?
