SUPERB Analysis of the Stealth Invasion of America,
By K.L. Adams (Mesa, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Illegals: The Imminent Threat Posed by Our Unsecured U.S.-Mexico Border (Hardcover)
This book is an eye-opener! Jon Dougherty is one of America's outstanding investigative journalists. His penetrating research and front-line reporting go far beyond the spin and political "new speak" of talking-heads and crass politicians pandering for votes. Dougherty looks at the realities of America's failed immigration policy. He describes the daily acts of terrorism commited by illegals. He details the criminal activity by illegal aliens, drug-smugglers, and corrupt elements of the Mexican army who provide armed support. He reveals how armed incursions by Mexican military and police have resulted in violent exchanges with U.S. authorities. Incredibly the media have suppressed reporting such events. He details the trashing of property and victimizing of American citizens living on the border that is ignored by a media motivated more by editorial politics rather than accurate reporting. This book is a must read on one of the most urgent topics facing America today.

Threat Yes!,
By Book & Music Lover (Louisville, Kentucky USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Illegals: The Imminent Threat Posed by Our Unsecured U.S.-Mexico Border (Hardcover)
After reading this book I come away with questions as to why Americans are devided. I mean is not illegal entry into this country seen as a bad thing? Too, too many Americans say "These people come here for a better life." Yes they do. But reality says you do not allow someone to move into your home uninvited. Even more you do not start to take people into your home when you are ill-equipped to care for those in your home. Unemployment amoung Black men, is three times the national rate. At the same time we are not going to improve the plight of the people who are already citizens but we then take pity on some people from outside, to try to look compassionate.
Well here is how we stop the flow. We enforce those laws already on the books, and we then add teeth to those law, and close all loopeholes. If as is widely reported they are here to do jobs Americans refuse to take, try paying a living wage. Besides, as cold as this may sound, if you as an individual who cannot feed and house yourself properly you have no business procreating in the first place. These "Swiss Cheese" borders offer a terrorist an easy entry into the United States, and the terrorist know this. So learn Spanish, and blend right in. We have a habit of half doing our job anyway so this is no big. Of course too many bleeding hearts say this is not the point. So look at health care in America, and how the entry of illegal aliens have overburdened this system, which was faulty at best without the added burden of illegal peoples. Next that stupid law that says born here, makes you a citizen, is just plain stupid. Many illegal aliens come here pregnant just to gain a foot hold in this country, by having their babies here. Our education system is such a mess that we have to do something to stop this madness. We used to have music, art, and physical education, not to mention math, and science, but because we now have to pay for a bunch of people from mostly Mexico have made this impossible. This is all eloquently laid out by this author, and how Wall Street likes it this way. It is that slave labor mentality we have yet to get over. And why not we as a nation have yet to solidly destroy the concept of sweat shop labor. People working for pennies a day. Blame it on WTO. This author outlines the lack of safety, and the likelyhood of another 9/11. What are we going to do about it anyway. We refused to stop this disaster before. We ignored those who sounded the alarm before. A government impotent, because of Wall Street where nothing means nothing but money. You as tax payers cannot get what you have paid for, a quality education for your children, because your government sees fit to spend this money on others. Not just those from of south of the border but there are a great many illegal people who come here from Europe, on vacation visas, and disappear into the populous, never to be heard of again. Never mind some of these people have criminal records, as do some of those from south of the border, and from nations where there is a totally inefficient means of keeping criminal records. So we know not who we have in our country. The author warns we need to even to take a new look at legal immigration as well, not to mention refugee status. Who are we allowing into our country, and whose country is it anyway?

I live in Arizona and if people don't think there is a threat to our national security then they need to visit Douglas, Arizona or any number of American communities on the borders. Private property, ranches, natural environment is being destroyed by an unending stream of people illegally crossing our borders. Our elected leaders do not want to deal with the problem.

As a grandson of Asian immigrants(incarcerated in iternement camps no less) with fluency in Spanish I hardly fit the mold of the so called racists below that have also given this publication 5 stars. Yes I've visted Mexico extensively and have many friends and acquaintances from there. Yet I've come to the same conclusion as the book's author. WHY?
A-Ethics-Simply put Illegal is illegal. With this rationale we can also justify amnesty for narcotics users, prostitution and waive vehicular safety rules given the rationale that "there simply are too many vioaltors out there" or the infamous "these are victimless crimes" argument. If the law is amended to allow open borders then I'll be the first in line to support policy to match said new law. Until then this rationale harkens to a danegerous slippery-slope where anything can and often will be justified for a special interest(i.e illegals). It is both irrational and unethical to condone some illegal behavior(illegal immigration) while prohibiting others(speeding, jaywalking) B-National bias. Many are quick to call any critic of "open borders" racist. If anything the opposing reality is the truth. IF we allow Mexico to send millions of their nationals over unfettered by our "silly" and "biased" immigration law then we should allow any other country to do the same. By not doing so we are treating Mexico as a special country in it's own class to the disadvantage of all other immigrants from ALL other countries of the world.Only if we put Mexico on a quota system like EVERY OTHER country can we have a legitimate bias-free immigration system. C- Environmental/Fiscal Impact.- Not only must we face the real strain that the illegal population place upon our education/social service/criminal justice infrastucture we must consider the future effects of ALL additional offspring born in this country as a DIRECT result of illegal immigration today. People often wonder why cities like Los Angeles, Miami, and San Diego are morphing into a Blade Runner type dystopia. Put it this way folks todays problem will only grow EXPONENTIALLY if we do nothing. I could go on for another 1000 pages or so but I think any clear headed REALIST can paint the rest of this picture....

Every warm blooded American should read this book! Very frank, enlightening and shocking! It will leave you demanding: let's build the damn fence already (all 700 miles)!!! Hooray for patriots like the Minutemen, Tom Tancredo, Dana Rohrbacher, Joe Arpaio, Jeff Sessions, Lou Barletta, etc.!

worth reading,

If you haven't read many books on current immigration, this book is a good place to start. There are a number of stories of the actual people who are being harmed by immigration. There are also a lot of facts and figures. Even if you've read a few books on the subject, you'll still pick up lots of tidbits in this book.
If you haven't read anything but the mainstream media, you'll be wondering: what's all the fuss about? We've had immigration for years. The fuss is that immigration has changed: U.S. citizens living near the border are routinely terrorized by vandalism, home invasions, robbery, destruction of property, etc. U.S. law-enforcement men and women are attacked and sometimes murdered. Terrorists are using the border for easy access. Healthcare costs, taxes, and other expenses are being heaped on the American middle class to provide free services for illegal immigrants. Illegals are taking jobs from America's less skilled citizens, such as Blacks and legitimate immigrants. Both the author of this book and other books on the immigration problem seem baffled as to why such an outrageous problem is allowed to continue and why it is not reported in the mainstream media. To find the answer to this, read While America Sleeps: How Islam, Immigration and Indoctrination Are Destroying America From Within. Solving the immigration problem will require more than pep talks or voting or urging of public officials.

typical journalist,

This review is from: Illegals: The Imminent Threat Posed by Our Unsecured U.S.-Mexico Border (Hardcover)
This book is almost a joke, if not a disgrace. THe previous 5 star ratings of this book just show the real ignorance of people in this country. If any of you were to actually travel to mexico, let alone LIVE in mexico - you would see the truth behind border issues and immigration. This book portrays all mexicans as a bunch of criminals who illegally enter this "great" country and engage in nothing but criminal activity. All of which for the most part is not true. The truth is that most of america's drug and violence problems are not caused by mexican immigrants - rather by AMERICANS; mostly those living in poverty themselves. all you have to do is read the stats. This is typical of sensationalist journalism at its best. Also sheer ignorace at its best - not just of the author, but of the poeple who review this kind of jounralism with 5 stars. Also - the pictures of the border in this book are nothing but a joke. Maybe in a few remote places there is still a wooden sign saying "do not cross". But, how about you photograph the truth? - the real border that runs all along mexico. THe one with barbed wire, and motion sensors. the one with jeeps patrolled with gunmen. How about you observe the racial profiling that goes on at the border. photograph the abuse of US customs people on commuters as they try and drive thru the border daily to get to LEGAL jobs in this country. Truth also, is that america needs workers who are willing to work for 7 dollars an hour. Immigrants are not a bunch of animal criminals as most people make them out to be. Try reading some DECENT, INTELLECTUAL literature, about the economics of immigration. this book reminds me of those tabloids you see in the super market - nothing but sensationalistic journalism with hideous photography thrown in between.

We need a serious book about the border situation,
By Bill Michaels (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Illegals: The Imminent Threat Posed by Our Unsecured U.S.-Mexico Border (Hardcover)
Even though I have never heard of this author, I bought the book because it looked interesting enough. However, this book was not worth the discounted price that I paid for it. Clearly the author is working on the side of the racist crackpots out there and is not looking at the reality of the border situation. He seems to have spent some time with the fringe border vigilante-militia types and has obviously sided with them. We need a serious book about the border situation as is today and unfortunately this one isn't it.
