This review is from: Illinois Bird Watching: A Year-Round Guide (Paperback)
This book is a collection of the 150 most seen birds in Illinois. As such, it is great for the novice birdwatcher (me) and backyard watchers, especially (also me). I especially like the page layout--one bird per page, with a quick facts box including silhouettes of the birds perched and flying (yes, their wings and tails look different and sometimes this is the only way to tell two similar species apart!). I keep this book by my porch door so if I see birds I don't know at the feeders, presto, there is my handy reference. I am enjoying this book and recommend it to all who are starting in birdwatching (and who live in Illinois). Enjoyable!
