This review is from: The Illinois Road Guide to Haunted Locations (Paperback)
This is another in the series of "Haunted Road Guides" by these authors. (They have also done ones for MN, SD, WI, and IA.) Each listing is about 1-2 pages long, with photos of the site, directions to find it, a listing of what is reported there, and an "investigation" section regarding what the authors actually were able to find out upon investigating the site.
While most of the sites are country cemeteries, or haunted houses, some of the sites are somewhat remote or obscure and you'd never be able to find them without the aid of this book. This is a good book for locals or those who are interested in going to spend some spooky vigils, hoping to encounter something. For others, it's just a fun fireside read. I hope the series continues!

One of the best books to come out on this subject in a decade,

This review is from: The Illinois Road Guide to Haunted Locations (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book, and not just because the authors cite my writing on St. Omer Cemetery! Unlike a lot of similar books that have come out since 1999, the authors have clearly visited all the locations in the book and have included original research and observations. As a bonus, they have gone out of their way to find obscure places that haven't been written about before. I cite this book extensively in my own work about haunted places in Illinois and I definitely consider it a 'must read' for any fan of the genre.
