Hi Betty. There are 2 bulbs - a white and blue - one each side. When I remove the side panel on my mirror, it clearly states that we should use a max of 10 watts of the "Type T" bulb. (Maybe I have a different model.) The type of bulb available on web sites however show that each is 20 watts. In the link to the Conair website, please see reviews on how the original bulb lasted for years and the replacement bulbs are short life and gets too hot. Paste the following in the address bar to get to the Conair site, http://www.conair-store.com/product/CON+RP3435B_BATH The bulbs are also available at Amazon.com. I would not use it in a poorly lit area. While it is super portable you still need an okay overhead light to complement the mirror

The mirror can be rotated East and west. You'll have to hold it to keep it so though. It mainly turns so you can get to the magnified and Un magnified sides

YES. You are able to change the light bulbs in this model. The lenses snap off and the bulb is exposed. Take the bulb to home depot or lowes and match it up there.
