4.0 out of 5 stars Great second book with a lot of development May 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a great follow up to Spirit Seeker. A lot of development in the story line can be seen in this book. That made for a very quick and engaging read. The story picks up where the first book ends and lands running on its feet.

My feelings about some of the characters changed in this one. Dakota is my new favorite, and I loved him. I loved the connection that he had with Talisa. Jag and Lauren made me scrunch up my nose plenty of times.

As someone who has the privilege of looking out of my bedroom windows and seeing the Smoky Mountains, I loved these books. The author does such an amazing job of painting a beautiful picture of my home, and it left me smiling so often. Jamie Haden captures the beauty of the world Talisa and her friends share with beautiful prose.

I'm so happy to hear that Jamie Haden is writing another book in this series. It's one that I have seriously enjoyed. Again, fans of the paranormal and Native American legends, pick these up!

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to GMTA Publishing and Jamie Haden.

Review:

"Illuminate-Alive, She Cried" by Jamie Haden was a very good paranormal read. I really liked the colorful descriptions this author added to this novel..such as in the hurricanes seasons, rains, 'the great smokey mountains and even the snow storms... really bringing you into the story and adding a action packed read.

Just seeing how this granddaughter of a 'Shaman,' Talisha Santiago was to survive from one island (Silence) ... then going to a clan of Indians in 'The Smokey Mountains with her blood brothers and then finding out that there were still many secrets and danger that lurked for Talisha. Just what was in store for this young lady? Just who were these tricksters that had it in for Talisha... Now, this is where I say you will have to find out by picking up this wonderful well written novel "Illuminate-Alive, She Cried." This novel was a real page turner for me because I could not put it down until the end... and that ending...I will say I didn't see coming... leaving me only to say WoW! Talisha's blood brothers, who were shifters..had promised to have such a bonded friendship... and would protect her...well you will soon see what happens with that along with a few other supposed friendships.

The authors' characters were all simply off the chart... good... from Talisa, Jag, Dakota, Charles Brantley, Tula, Kelly, Rebecca, Suzy, Sequoya, Andrew, John, Emily, Silas, Great grandmother, Lauren, Daniel, Miguel, Margaret, Roberto, Mr.Boots(Uncle Freddy), to Lucy and I am sure I have left someone out but you will find out in your read of "Illuminate-Alive, She Cried."

I enjoyed "Illuminate-Alive, She Cried" because it was a enjoyable novel and I would recommend to anyone who would like a good paranormal read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read January 13, 2013

Illuminate-Alive, She Cried
Talisa Santiago #2

I read this book not realising it was part of a series - I haven't read Spirit Seeker, but it didn't take anything away from this book.

An intriguing read, this book combines Native Americans with the paranormal. Well written and incredibly descriptive, it didn't take long to become completely immersed in Talisa's life, and join her in the journey. The characters develop greatly as the book continued, and each reader will have more than one favourite. The only thing that would have made this book even better would be if we had chapters written from different characters points of view - it would have added to the readers experience of the emotions they were all going through.

I received an e-copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Check it out!!! September 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
First I'd like to say that Ms. Hayden and I have the same publisher. However, I was not asked to write this review, nor would I have unless I felt the need.
This is truly a wonderful story told by a talented writer. So often does great material go unnoticed when coming from small press. It would be a crime if this were the case here. I not only enjoy reading this book, but am now a real fan of her work. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
