However, the majestic mountains hold many secrets and danger lurks in the night. And Talisa falls prey to the evil tricksters that want her dead, she unleashes an untamed passion that may get them all killed.

REVIEW:

When I opened this book I was a little confused, everything was kind of fast paced. It wasn't bad, I was just confused for the first couple of chapters
But it cleared up after that. The storyline is something I haven't read before, and it was refreshing. This book had myths and legends, paranormal, romance and suspense, plus a wicked love triangle. Which by the way pissed me off, the only thing in the book that did. I found myself wanting to beat the two main female characters with a stick. So all in all this story was engaging and exciting, I can't wait till the second book is out.

I give this book four****stars. It just was kind of confussing in the beginning.

CHARACTERS:
* Talisa- The main character, is a confussed seventeen-year-old who can't chose a boyfriend.

Every teen girls fantasy, you wake up one day to a reasonably normal day or so you think, only to find out what you thought you were you were not at all. Somehow all these years your been hiding behind a mask and when that mask is removed you are someone you do not know. The people around you at that moment are the only ones that understand you and also know your fate but they wont tell you much and what they do tell you is indiscriptive. You got wolves, coyotes, shamans and CATS big cats. All shapeshifters must learn to live a new life outside that of the normal population and though your not a shape shifter your fate is held in their hands. This story is hard to describe without giving away everything.A mustread for YA and paranormal readers!

A good story for those who loves to read paranormal. When I read this, I was unaware that there was a part one to this series but I don't feel like I missed anything by not reading it first.

Jamie Haden did a great job building her characters and story lines. Talisa and her mother lived on Silence Island, NC. A category one hurricane hits the island and leaves a big mess behind. But Talisa has more to deal with than that. She is pregnant and danger just lurks around the corner.

A very suspenseful novel by Jamie Haden. I need to find Spirit Seeker and read that one.

Talisa' journey continues in this second volume of the Spirit Seeker series.

This is a tale of coming of age, but not in the sense of what we usually would assume that entails. There are no sock hops, no endless nights of homework, no proms.

Talisa's is a tale of coming of age not only in this world, but in many worlds, in many realities that only true seekers will ever come to know.

This granddaughter of a desert shaman has friends, three dear and close ones who are shifters; three who learned quite early that more exists than is perceived normally by those who only walk in one world.

Having been taken from the desert by her mother, Talisa has lived in a number of places. When she moves to the water, she begins to understand her spiritual connection to it. It is there she meets Jag, Miguel, and Dakota. Miguel's music is a constant in the story as are his dreadlocks and his continued criticism of Talisa's untamed emotional turmoil regarding Jag and Dakota. Can you carry the baby of one who has a wandering eye, is emotionally hormone directed and fall in love with his best friend, who because of their early childhood experiences, feels what he feels?

Trouble brews for Talisa by the water and the three take her high into the mountains into a Native America sacred place to keep her safe, to assist her in her journey to self. Yet here, as in all places, there are expectations of her, rules for her abound and finally it is realized that she needs to spend time totally alone; needs to spend time to be with herself without outside interference, static, rules, expectations.

The author paints a vivid picture in the readers mind as you walk through the pages of this story. A young 17 year old girl discovers her pregnancy, but with a twist. She has to move to a remote Native American reservation where she begins to learn her true heritage and embrace her destiny while discovering herself. This story has great suspense, but it also leaves the feeling a bit more relaxed and self aware as you follow Talisa through her life changing journey of life, death, and spiritual rebirth.
