i can't believe how awesome the song "Illuminate" is. really. the radio edit, while running through the song a little bit too fast, still contains the essential pieces of the original. system22's new remix of Illuminate is VERY sweet. it's more upbeat and the drums are fresh. i really like what cody did witht the vocals on this remix.... the gated part is phat!!! the b-side remix of "bound" is dark and chilling, but still beautiful. i love it!! the c.l.mcspadden remix is an awesome trance remix, with minimal vocals... but just enough to sustain the feeling that you're still listening to "illuminate." the delay on the vocals is superb :) while a big fan of Dreamtraveler's other remixes (think Until You Say You Are by system22, and Liberation by The Echoing Green), i wasnt blown away on my first listen of this remix. although after listening to it a few more times, i've grown to like it. then there's the album version of "illuminate".... it starts with a deep bass, leading into some very awesome drum programming. then the vocals come in... and blow you away. the chorus is totally amazing.... chrissy's voice is at its peak in this song. i'd highly recommend this cd to any fan of electronic music.

System22 produces a style of music blending elements of synthpop and trance that is truly captivating. They are among my favorite bands, and this single has some great remixes on it. Dreamtraveller never lets me down on his remixes, and his take on "Illuminate" is no exception. System22's own New Mix does not drastically veer from the original, but is different just enough to stand apart from it. My personal favorite on this single, though, is the extra track "Bound", a hard-hitting, driving electronic song that should have been a single of its own and remixed. I highly recommend this one!
