5.0 out of 5 stars The Illuminated Landscape by Peter Poskas, September 24, 2002
By
The Illuminated landscape by Peter Poskas is one of the better art publications I've ever purchased. Poskas makes his creative process easily understood by his duscussions on specific works, all of which are beautifly displayed throughtout the book. I read a page every night while viewing each painting, learning values, light, seasons atmospheric changes which he's a master at doing. I purchased the book in 1988 and I am hoping he will publish another one of these great books with more of his great works.

4.0 out of 5 stars Realist Oil Painter, November 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Illuminated Landscape (Hardcover)
This is an annotated compilation of a large number of the artists work. Peter Poskas is an extremely accomplished oil painter who paints ordinary subjects but with the eye of a painter who spends countless hours "seeing" his subject before painting it. He is a master painter with a very pleasing palette. The paintings are amazing to view and the annotation about each painting gives one insight into what goes through the painters' mind and eye before laying paint to canvaas. The only deficiency is that the reprints of the paintings are limited in quality but to be expected given the price of high quality reproductions relative to this book's price.
