WHy didn't I have this book for Secondary School when I was trying to think up illumination for my final exams from my head?
Again (where most of my wish list seems to come from) I borrowed this from my local Library.
It goes through the basics and the more complicated methods of illumination and design inspiration ideas, without being dictatorial. Step by step with great photographed stages. I would heartily recommend it to amateur post beginner calligraphers.

I have just begun doing illumination and found that this book is exactly what I needed as a beginner. The hands-on instruction is step by step and easily followed. The book then takes you through more complex designs, painting and goldwork. I would recommend this book to all illuminators not just beginners.
