The poetry of Daphne Lewis took my breath away. I found myself so entranced by her language choices and lyrical manner of expression that I only came to consider the actual meaning of the poetry on a second or third time through. I have owned this book now for some years and I find that it has many levels, the poems having a completely different significance when I first read them than they have now. A remarkably brave and intelligent collection.
