4.0 out of 5 stars It's A Romance with a Strange Twisted Ending!, March 3, 2010
By
This review is from: Illusion (Hardcover)
The first 170 pages of Andrew Neiderman's Illusion (1987) is a sophisticated romance/love story set in New York City and one romantic getaway weekend set in the beach community of Provincetown, Mass. (I'd never heard of Provincetown or the community's "colorful" past before this read, other than through noticing Burt Hirschfeld's novel by the same name published in paperback in 1977 by Bantam Books.) So men folk out there, steel yourselves, you may not make it out alive without knowing the romance factor upfront! The remaining 110 pages of Illusion is sweet sweet candy. The book reads itself. How can a woman meet and fall in love, and get engaged to a man who died five years before they meet? Well, if your interested, this novel will tell you how. I've become a fast fan of Andrew Neiderman's weird reads having just finished Night Howl and Pin. The differences beween Illusion, Pin, and Night Howl are startling. Hope to read Neiderman's Weekend next.
