IS SIMPLE, EASY TO READ AND EXTREMELY EDUCATIONAL,
By A Customer
This review is from: Illustrated Dogwatching (Hardcover)
I first found and read this book in the waiting area of my local vet whilst my dear poodle had daily treatment over several days. I have studied dog behaviour, breeding, genetics, etc at Sydney Technical College and work as a dog trainer, boarder and manage a volunteer pet visiting program. I have read many, and I MEAN many books on dogs and found this one to be most definately, one of the best. It explains in non scientific language why dogs are dogs and why they do the things they do. I found it entertaining at least and extrelely educational at best. I personally, thoroughly recommend this book to anyone wishing to know and understand dogs better. I am delighted that I have found this book at Amazon and can now have my very own copy. P.S. My beautiful poodle has fully recovered from her illness!

I originally thought I was purchasing a different type of book. I was surprised to get this wonderful book. It details why dogs do what they do. So when you wonder why dogs sniff other dog's butts, this is the book to get. It goes though many behaviors. Help the dog trainer and dog owner. I give this book out as a give to my special clients.

If You are Thinking to Adopt a Dog This Is Your Book!,

This review is from: Illustrated Dogwatching (Paperback)
When Fate put a beautiful puppy on my lap (seventeen years ago) I was delighted and at the same time worried by my bottomless ignorance on "dog care".
So I started a research on books addressing this issue. I found many useful ones and profited from them. Nevertheless Mr. Morris' "Dogwatching" is a very special book. It is not a traditional "How to take care of your Dog"; it's constructed as a series of questions & answers including many different topics that neophytes are willing to discover. Some themes are serious as "How often do dogs feed?", "Why dogs pant so much?", "At what rate do puppies develop?" or "How does a mother-dog deal with her newborn puppies?" Some other chapters focus on rather comic issues, but not less important for will be "dog parents" as "Why do puppies chew slippers?" or "Why do dogs try to sleep on their owners' bed?" Lots of miscellaneous items are discussed in this very short and entertaining book. It really gave me an overall picture of the "hows" and "whys" of canine mind and eased my apprehensions. I recommend this book to anyone who's going to raise a puppy. It's also a fun reading for any pet lover and general public too. Reviewed by Max Yofre.
