I've been acquiring books on European art and architecture, and this seemed a logical addition. If you enjoy the Spanish/Moorish designs and colors, I think you will find this book very rewarding to the eye...and inspiring to any artistic ability you already have. After gazing at the structures and paintings, etc. from Europe, with all the statues and images (and who in the world came up with the idea of gargoyles?), this was rather a refreshing outlook; the beautiful, imaginative designs in buildings, tile work, painting, sculpture and tapestry made this book hard to put down. I am not an artist, but you don't need to be one in order to really appreciate the creativity and devotion involved in these many ancient (and a few modern) works of art and architecture.
