This book has detailed, step by step, plans for making many 1930's hats. It reads like a millinery course text and is so modern sounding that did a double take that it actually was written in the 1930's. Steps are laid out in an outline form, with letters and numbers referring to steps and illustrations and when instructions refer back to earlier material, they give the letter, number and page of that material so you can find it more easily.

This book is very helpful to me, and with making cloche hats from the 20's and 30's. It's also helped me come up with new ideas.
