From School Library Journal
YA The authors' belief that "anyone can draw" is consistently apparent throughout the text. This book offers a concise yet basic art foundation to readers with little art background and yet is interesting reading for experienced artists. Even non-artists will be drawn to this book because of the quality of the illustrations, which exemplify specific artistic techniques and enhance the textual explanation of technical drawing. The text is comprehensive and precise, citing colors of paint used, types of brushes required, type of paper used, etc., for each drawing. The writing style makes this more than a "how-to" book, and high-school students will find it useful. Gloria Delrahim, Mount Vernon High School, Fairfax, Va.
